ISVA – Independent Sexual Violence Advisor

We’re looking for a highly motivated ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) to work across Derbyshire. The role will support people aged 18 and over who have experienced sexual abuse or rape at any point. Summary of Requirement

Background

SV2 is a charity supporting victims and survivors of sexual abuse or assault across Derby City and Derbyshire. The registered aims of the Charity are:

  • To help relieve the suffering and distress of persons who have been raped or sexually abused; and
  • To advance the education of the public in the subject of rape and sexual abuse and their effects.

We do this by providing a range of support, education and prevention services, including our BACP accredited therapy service.

Summary of the requirement:

We sub-contract therapists to work therapeutically, with adults, children or young people across Derbyshire, who have experienced sexual abuse or rape at any point. This work can be delivered face to face or remotely, from your own premises, school or other appropriate premises or in therapy rooms at SV2.

Therapy can be delivered at any time, on any day of the week. We are particularly keen to hear from therapists with capacity to work in the early evenings.  

As a sub-contracted therapist, you will:

  • Deliver high quality and ethical therapeutic practice
  • Receive supervision in line with BACP requirements
  • Provide clinical assessments and ongoing sessions
  • Collaborate with Independent Sexual Violence Advisor and/or Children’s Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA’s/ChISVA) and other team members to provide specialist clinical services as required
  • Monitor clinical progress through regular reviews and the use of outcome measures set out by the organisation
  • To be aware of, and engage with, relevant developments in safeguarding and adolescent mental health
  • To attend mandatory training such as induction, GDPR, Safeguarding etc.
  • To attend optional in-house training
  • Have knowledge and awareness of Dissociation, the impact of trauma with children and vicarious trauma, and an understanding of crisis management
  • Develop and maintain knowledge and skills relevant to this area of work which
  • meets the needs of the Organisation, client group and sexual offences legislation
  • Adhere to the BACP Code of Ethics adopted by SV2

You will hold a recognised qualification at Level 4 or above plus over 450 clinical hours experience post qualification.

You will be required to provide SV2 with proof of professional qualifications, BACP or alternative professional body membership, a current DBS update service membership and up-to-date insurance.
