We’re looking for an experienced children’s therapist to join our friendly, professional and passionate team, working across Derbyshire remotely and in person, with the ability to provide in person support to people in the Peak District.
You’ll be providing therapeutic support to children who have experienced sexual violence at any point in their lives through both short and long-term therapy as part of our holistic service. We support people of any age and gender and are keen to ensure that our staff team is just as diverse as the population we serve.
SV 2 has been supporting victims and survivors of sexual abuse since 1994, and today provides a range of services to anyone in Derbyshire or Derby City who has experienced sexual abuse, assault or violence, including friends and family members. We support people irrespective of age, gender or when the abuse occurred.
We’re looking for highly motivated and experienced subcontracted therapists to support our friendly, professional and passionate team, working across Derbyshire remotely and face to face. As part of our BACP accredited therapy service, you will provide short and long-term therapy for people of all ages and gender.
This might be the right opportunity for you if you have:
A qualification in counselling or psychotherapy (for adults or children) level four and above
Registered with an appropriate professional body, such as the BACP/UKCP/NCS
Knowledge and experience of working with rape and sexual abuse
A passion for supporting people to develop their resilience and to move forward from trauma and abuse.
We sub-contract supervision for everyone who works at SV2 to support their clinical practice, work and wellbeing. As the organisation grows, we need to expand our pool of subcontracted supervisors with a specific requirement to supervise our Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) Crisis Workers on a group basis. These sessions are quarterly in the early evening.
This subcontractor would also be able to take on monthly clinical supervision for children and adult therapists employed by SV2, or group supervision for other members of staff.
As a subcontracted therapist you will:
Promote high quality and ethical therapeutic practice through supervision.
Act promptly should you become aware of any non-compliance with SV2’s policies, procedures and guidance.
Engage with updates on SV2 practice, development and activities to most effectively provide supervision
Be aware of, and engage with, relevant developments in safeguarding, adult, child and adolescent mental health, including completing appropriate training
To maintain knowledge, awareness and training of issues arising within the therapy room.
Ensure all practice adheres to the BACP Ethical Framework.
Maintain confidentiality in line with SV2’s information governance policies.
Hold a level 5/6 or equivalent qualification in clinical supervision
Be registered or accredited with UKCP/ BACP/NCS or similar
Be experienced in facilitating group supervision
Have extensive knowledge of rape, sexual abuse, rape trauma syndrome and their effects within the therapeutic setting, the impact of trauma and vicarious trauma, and an understanding of crisis management
Have an understanding of the work that SV2 does, across SARC, ISVA, therapy and prevention activities.
