About Millfield House SARC

SARC stands for Sexual Assault Referral Centre. Millfield House SARC offers immediate support to anyone 18 or over who has experience sexual violence within the last 7 to 10 days. You do not need to report the crime to access our support.

You can either report to the police who will bring you to the SARC, or you can self refer to us.

While you are here you will undergo a forensic medical examination; hand over any other evidence such as clothing etc; and complete a witness statement. You will be supported throughout this process by one of our Crisis Workers, who will be able to answer any questions you may have.

If you are not sure whether to go to the police, we can store evidence for up to 2 years giving you the breathing space to recover and access additional support. There is also an option to anonymously provide the police with information regarding the crime.

At Millfield House we can provide:

  • 24/7 immediate Support.
  • Specialist information and advice.
  • Face-to-Face support.
  • Support through forensic examination and interviews.
  • Sexual Violence specialists.
  • External referrals to ongoing support.
