Therapy Team licensed to facilitate Equipped2Succeed course

Earlier this year our Therapy Coordinator and two members of the SV2 Peer Support Group attended the Equipped2Succeed training course.

The 10 day course covered a variety of topics such as: the power of positive thinking; Managing stress; Mental health awareness; and Managing Relationships. Those who attended reported back that it was thought-provoking and could be really beneficial to others.

The course was chosen after meeting the founder, Beverley Burton, and deciding that this kind of programme could really benefit our service users.

Since becoming licensed facilitators SV2 are now in the process of creating a programme for service users on the waiting list.

It can be incredibly frustrating for those in need of therapeutic support having to wait up to six months. While we are unable to change this, we hope that in the future we can offer constructive support while those in need are having to wait for one-to-one support. The aim is to offer this service to adults on the waiting list at the start of 2020.

We are also excited at the prospect of delivering this programme to 16 – 21 year olds. This comes as great news for our young people, as younger service users have consistently expressed their desire to be around others who have had similar experiences.
