Jurys Inn, Derby
The Jurys Inn Hotel in Derby select a charity to support every year, and for 2019/20 SV2 have been named as the lucky beneficiaries.
The Jurys and Leonardo Group organised an event this summer whereby a teddy, Leo the Luggage, was transported to every Jurys hotel across the UK.
The team at Derby were tasked with transporting Leo to the Jurys Inn, Nottingham. They came up with a plan that consisted of cycling 12 miles then canoeing the last 9 miles which took place on the 22nd July 2019.
They were forced to improvise, however, as the team from Sheffield’s Jurys Inn failed to bring little Leo in time! After a late arrival from Sheffield, Derby had to cut straight to the canoe and left the cyclists biking in the hotel’s gym to make up for it!

A fun canoe ride over to Nottingham
Their good intentions were rewarded as they raised over £1100! Over the month they held various other events such as a raffle, bake sales, and rather painful looking leg waxing for the hotel’s Charity Ambassador!
There was a fantastic raffle to enter with several nights’ stays on offer across the UK. One of the lucky winners happened to be one of our colleagues and is now looking forward to a trip to London!
While the main events have now come to close, Jurys Inn hope to continue raising funds over the next year. Thank you so much to all those who have taken part and donated so far!
